GTRO: War of Sandperium (Tempestas)

Temp growled as he saw the horde of crabs that looked dead set on destroying the sandcastle that Joey had just erected. He whistled and Storm Fang barrelled into the crabs, snapping up several and throwing them away. Though the crabs weren’t at all happy to see the giant black warg and used their pincers on his paws and legs, making Storm Fang yelp in slight pain.

“Oi! No one ‘ur’s my frien’.” Temp hissed as he jumped up onto Storm Fang’s back to snag his bow and a quiver of arrows that had been stored in a pack on the warg’s back. The ranger strung the bow and knocked an arrow to the string before leaping up and off his warg’s back in a wide and exaggerated flip. He locked onto a crab that was just far enough from Storm Fang’s flank and fired the shot.  The carefully aimed arrow shattered into three and took out three crabs in one shot, pinning them to the sand. Before Temp could finish his flip he fired five shots total, taking out fifteen crabs.

When he landed he kicked out at the crabs near his feet and looked back at Joey and their sand castle. He was pleased to see Joey keeping the crabs at bay with ease by standing on the outskirts of the castle’s walls and using psychic wave in small clusters. Temp was brought back to his own situation though when a crab’s pincer latched onto his leg. He yelped in pain as he felt the pincer break the skin on his ankle and threaten to take out the tendons and muscles.

“Oi! Ge’ yer filthy claw off o’ me!” Temp shouted and shot the crab with an arrow before leaning backwards and pointing his next arrows skyward. He let them loose and braced himself as the arrows morphed and split into a hundred copies of themselves. The arrows came flying back down to the beach and brought down a good majority of the crabs, leaving their shelled corpses pinned to the beach like a strange bug collector’s trophy.

Storm Fang howled and snapped up more crabs as Joey’s carefully aimed spells took out the crabs the ranger as his warg companion didn’t get. Temp was highly aware of the civilians nearby and some of his arrows were aimed at the crabs that decided to try to chase or hurt them. In the span of ten minutes the beach near his and Joey’s sand castle was riddled with crab bodies. Some burned, frozen, or pulverized. Others were bitten, crushed, and ripped open. And many looked like semi-morbid pin cushions. Temp shouldered his bow and smiled in victory, it seemed that the crabs had chosen now to retreat.

“Well tha’ was kin’a fun.” Temp joked as he turned back to look at Joey. Storm Fang limped over to his master and friend and the pair moved back towards the sorcerer. Joey tilted his head a little and summoned a Warmer under their feet, healing the wounds on both the ranger and the warg.

“Be’ ye weren’ thin’in’ tha’ we’ nee’ tah defen’ our cas’le from crabs ‘ey?” Temp asked and earned a tiny flash of a smile in Joey’s eyes as he shook his head and gave him a tiny shrug. “Then again, I ne’er though’ tha’ we’ ‘a’e tah defen’ a san’ cas’le from anythin’ other then maybe wa’es er somethin’ o’ the like.” Temp looked back over the beach now riddled with crab bodies and he sighed a little bit though he was smiling.

“Ah well, a’ leas’ i’ ma’e fer an in’eres’in’ day a’ the beach~!”
